A Substance Abuse Professional is one who meets all the requirements of the DOT, and has specific credidentials and qualifications by passing a Department of Transportation (DOT) exam.

The SAP evaluates employees who have violated a DOT drug and alcohol regulation and makes recommendations to the employer concerning education, treatment, continuing care for the employee and follow-up testing.

Addiction Counselor certified by NAADAC.

Understand the DOT CFR 49, Part 40.
